Directed by Ian Bell, Hedwig and the Angry Inch tells the story of East Berlin-born rock-and-roll goddess Hedwig Schmidt and her botched sex change, stolen music, and love affair with an American GI.

Rising star Jerick Hoffer (RENT, Spring Awakening) portrays Hedwig, who recounts her outrageous life story in a grungy club gig as the lead singer of her rock-and-roll band “The Angry Inch,” featuring members of Seattle bands The Walkabouts, 1uppers, Zony Mash, and Swallow.

The role of Hedwig is a perfect fit for Hoffer, also known to many in Seattle as preeminent drag queen chanteuse Jinkx Monsoon, host of the popular “An Evening at Le Faux” weekly celebrity impersonation show at Julia’s on Broadway. Jerick / Jinkx will compete as a contestant in the next season of RuPaul’s Drag Race (season premiere January 28 on Logo TV).

Hedwig and the Angry Inch is presented in arrangement with Dramatist’s Play Service.
